Glacier Way West Side Cooperative Preschool

Thank you for taking the time to learn about Glacier Way West Side Cooperative Preschool! We have been providing Ann Arbor families with a quality, affordable preschool education for more than 40 years. Located on the west side of town, on S. Seventh Street near Pauline, we welcome you to visit our school. Please read our Open House schedule below.

Ann Arbor has recently made the switch to a full-day Kindergarten, a change that makes a preschool education even more valuable for many children. Glacier Way Preschool offers classes twice per week for three-year-olds and three times per week for four-year-olds. During these classes, our skilled and creative teacher, Renee Hult, with support from co-op parents, leads children in structured and free play activities, art projects, dramatic play, etc.

Glacier Way also offers two unique additional programs. For children who will enter Kindergarten during the next school year, we offer an Enrichment program two afternoons per week, twice per month. These sessions include games and projects that help students practice fine-motor skills, pre-reading, counting, and other activities necessary for Kindergarten success.

In addition, once per month, students in both classes are invited to participate in the All About Science program. Our teacher, Renee Hult, created this hands-on preschool science program that uses investigation of scientific concepts (sound, friction, dinosaurs, water, light) to encourage higher thinking skills.

Now Enrolling for the 2013-2014 School Year

Open Houses:

Attend one of the following Open House events to meet our wonderful teacher, see the classrooms, and learn more about our programs:

Monday, February 4th, noon -1:30 p.m.
and
Thursday, March 7th, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m

Reserve a spot for next year by submitting the enrollment form and a $25 deposit which will be applied towards tuition.

Parent & Tot Play Group

The winter session of the Parent & Tot Play Group at Glacier Way West Side Cooperative Preschool has begun. The group provides a fun social time for your 18 month – 3 year-old to meet other children and for parents to connect! Our wonderful preschool teacher, Ms. Renee, leads this 6-week play group through an exploration of themes.

Dates/Time: Mondays from 12:30-1:30

Session 2: Jan. 7, 14,(not 21) 28 and Feb. 4, 11, (not 18) 25

Session 3: March 18, 25 and April (not 1) 8, 15, 22, 29

Location: Glacier Way West Side Cooperative Preschool (located inside the Westside United Methodist Church on S. Seventh St, Ann Arbor, MI 48103)

Cost: $5.00 per session or $25 for 6 weeks.

All About Science

Our monthly after-school science program, All About Science (AAS) has been a huge success with all the children who have participated. Developed by our teacher, Renee Hult, AAS introduces scientific skills to young children. By encouraging scientific thinking in the early years, AAS promotes higher thinking to prepare children for more advanced learning later in life. Children who stay for AAS should bring their lunch from home and be prepared for a fun and educational hour after the regular preschool morning.
